Fresh considerations for Spring interiors
Lighten and brighten your home in time for a summer and demonstrate your sophistication with leather furniture in paler shades.
As the daylight makes a welcome return to the early evenings and the sunshine tempts us outdoors without overcoats so to come thoughts of refreshing our homes in time for summer. Spring cleaning, redecorating, and renovating are all activities which seem much more pleasant with the windows flung open and the views of blue skies beyond.
We too have noticed this seasonal shift at Iconic Interiors, the enquiries and sales of black leather pieces has moved aside slightly in place of white, cream and ivory shades which are perfect for balmy summer heat.
Black is a staple classic and it has always been my favourite when putting together schemes for clients in my role as an interior designer but I have had the good fortune to work on projects that have changed my view.
I was recently assisting in the renovation of an old Victorian farmhouse that included a new (but thankfully sympathetically built) timber framed conservatory, a beautiful airy place that caught the last of the day's sunshine as it dipped out of sight at the end of the garden. The client had initially requested the Barcelona range in dark brown leather but I managed to persuade her that the white leather is more practical than she had anticipated and would provide a sophisticated accent to her home. Thankfully she followed my lead and we are all delighted with the finished effect.
At Iconic Interiors we are very conscious of the quality of our leathers which we source personally from Italy to ensure they meet our exacting standards, the cheapest Barcelona chairs, ottomans and sofas have unfortunately not received this level of attention and consequently are less robust and mark easily. This is especially pertinent when opting for a lighter shade of leather.
Our customers often ask what makes our pieces better than the cheaper furniture they have seen elsewhere on the market and the answer has many dimensions; hopefully our confusion busters help to answer some of these queries but the simplest answer is that this furniture really matters to us, the Iconic Interiors team love beautiful things and we are here as much to share them with you as we are to make a living. The companies that offer cheap furniture cannot lay stake to this claim.
So if you are considering making some changes to your home in time for the summer (and let's all hope it's a long and warm one) please speak to us, we are confident you will be pleased that you did.
