Furniture designers Irving Harper and George Nelson understood that there are significant areas of a sofa's cushioning that are not required for use and considered various ways in which these areas could be taken away. The end result is a series of 18 circular cushions positioned onto a near invisible steel frame.
This is a truly playful design that lends itself beautifully to colourful cushions for a bright and eye-catching fun piece in your space (kids will absolutely love it in boiled sweet brights) but it can also work just as well in a plain colour. A particularly effective example we have come across recently is upholstered in white leather and positioned against a white painted wall; with lighting it suddenly reveals itself, the beauty in the contrast of the highlighted areas versus the shadows.
The cushions can be removed and reattached this enables you to detach them for cleaning and to move them around to ensure even use. It also gives you the option to buy this piece with additional cushions to enable changes in colour scheme - go on splash out, you won't regret it!
