The brilliance of the Grand Confort 2 seater sofa is the externalization of this structure. In contrast to earlier designs, the Grand Confort's supporting elements, are also its decorative elements.
Unlike its smaller cousin, the 'Petit Confort', the Grand Confort does not so much contain its occupant, but rather it enfolds like a nest. Often we assume that comfort must be inversely related to elegance and savoir fair, but as its name suggests, the Grand Confort disputes this concept, for it is not only extraordinarily comfortable, it is a classic modern furniture masterpiece.
Materials: The highly polished stainless steel tubular frame is not bent but rather it's corners are welded and ground to an acute curve, just as specified by Le Corbusier himself. The sumptuous leather cushions are buttery soft, inviting you to melt into them. Cushions are high density foam (Premium 2.0 lbs. high density fire-rated foam). This ensures a longer life.
The Swiss were so proud of Le Corbusier and more specifically this design they used an image of it to adorn their postage stamps.

As with all pieces featured on this site the Le Corbusier furniture is manufactured using full grain leather and not over printed top grain leather that is far cheaper and looks it.
The stainless steel frame is high quality steel that will retain its high shine finish.
