The Egg chair is typically Jacobsen, combining organic form and comfort. Initially designed in his garage, it is said Jacobsen was inspired by Eero Saarinen's "Womb chair", from which it gains some traits.
The Egg chair was also designed as a couch, but very few of these were made due the difficulty involved in making it, plus a design "flaw" - the couch is too big to be covered by two entire cow-hides, which is just possible with the Egg chair. This leaves a visible stitching down the centre of the couch - not very Jacobsen!

Materials:
